Oracle CEO Safra Catz to depart Walt Disney board
Walt Disney Co. (DIS.N) announced on Friday that Oracle Corp. (ORCL.N) Chief Executive Officer Safra Catz is leaving the entertainment company's board after serving for six years.Catz joined Disney's board in 2017 alongside Francis deSouza, the former CEO of Illumina Inc. (ILMN.O).
Their appointments came during a pivotal time for Disney, as the company was in the process of acquiring Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.'s media assets.
During her tenure, Catz contributed to significant strategic decisions and oversight as Disney navigated through major acquisitions and transformations in the media landscape.
With Catz's departure, Disney's board will now consist of 11 members. The company has not yet announced a replacement for Catz on the board.In a statement, Disney expressed its gratitude for Catz's service and contributions.
